A message to NORML and all cannabis activists

Legalizing a cannabis monopoly is legalizing the further discrimination of an entire people. Legalize a monopoly and you turn a plant into the new liquor. No doubt the stereotypes will remain, people will continue to get arrested for growing it and habitual use will probably increase because of the perception of this not as a plant, but a drug that only the government should be allowed to produce. Don't let them rape the cannabis plant and all of it's strains. Legalize home-growth or legalize nothing

 Not asking for perfection, asking for the basic human right to grow a plant, don't forget why you became a part of this movement, don’t sell out.

 If our right’s are not respected, we will not vote for a measure

armor bans

Banning certain levels of body armor for citizens does nothing but make the world a more dangerous place for citizens while creating double standards for those within the political system. It also creates more criminals because there are those that will not be giving up their already owned pre-ban armor. These laws are a disgusting attack on the right to self defense.

Resources

Non-renewable resources will run out eventually. Our coffin is made, If we do not get together the proper resources to switch to a renewable energy source then we will die off. This isn't about climate change, nor is it about religiosity or non-religiosity, it's about a long term future for everyone living on this earth.

A Problem that the dea watch-list made worse

Cracking down on the individuals who abuse
certain substances just causes more harm. The
dea instated mandatory forms that people must
fill out in order to purchase certain chemicals that could
be misused to manufacture scheduled drugs as part of their watch-list. In my opinion if
they are going to break the law they are going
to do it. Cracking down on the tools that they
use to do it does nothing but create drugs like
crokodil. The reason that the stuff is so
dangerous is because of the dea's actions. In
my opinion they made the meth lab problem worse
and more dangerous, as well as the meth itself.
If they would have approached the issue
differently the meth lab outbreak wouldn't have
gotten as out of hand as it did. If they worked
with the community and educated people instead
of attacking entire professions and creating
stigmas about them then maybe they wouldn't have people
driving around doing one pot meth cooking
ruining their body's and endangering the lives
of others. If they had never created the
watch-list the one pot method would have never
came into existence, methamphetamine would not
be as dangerous as it is and a lot more people
might still be alive. Funds could have been allocated to helping decrease the problemed abuse of these substances and the mexican meth problem may not be as bad as it is today.

Plants, botany and the illegality of the pursuit of happiness

Certain forms of botany and taxonomy are illegal. If a plant collector chooses a genus of plant which happens to have plants in it that have been scheduled their collection will never be complete. If they wish to have a complete collection they are labeled a criminal by the united states government. Do you have a right to the pursuit of happiness in this nation?
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

The issue with "synthetic cannabis" laws



Under a not for human consumption policy, things like the health harms associated with research chemical laced herbal incense happen. Recommended dosage cannot be established and government can use the issues that occur because of the lack of knowledge about these products, as well as the stigmas that arise to attack them. The stigmas about the products all based on the misnomer(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synthetic_cannabis#Misnomer) THEY created and an untrue construct(idea) about the product, that is supposed to simply be an herbal admixture. Selective enforcement of false advertising laws regarding these products helped lead to their outright ban. Many of the "spice" products(herbal incense) didn't state what they consisted of and much of the time contained illegal substances. The ban is totally illegitimate and based on whack a mole policing strategy, dragging innocent people into their drug war for no other reason than that they are too incompetent to enforce current regulations. Most synthetic cannabinoids are illegal but they didn't just go after the research chemicals that the products were being laced with by retailers and sometimes manufactured with. They went after the product as a whole, they passed broad laws that could allow for the usurpment of religious freedom. They passed laws that create a legal free for all for the DOJ when it comes to the shipping, sales and purchase of herbal incense. They passed laws that outlaw herbal admixtures altogether in some states.

The drug war

List of 3 currently prescribed modern medications far stronger than heroin.

My opinion on the issue:

Don't forget who invented Heroin. Don't forget who originally marketed it, how it was marketed and what happened afterwards. Ask yourself, was it a good reason for the disinformation that has helped spread the war on drugs around(a war which now includes numerous plants and soon to come, native species)?

Remember, at the time before our our nations struggles with addiction was cocaine in the colas, and morphine in the miracle elixirs widely and heavy handedly marketed at the time. There were no discrete storefronts as we have with modern hard alcohol sales today. There was no marketing guidelines, no false advertising laws. Shortly after all of that along came heroin. one and a half to two times more potent than morphine itself. The perfect storm. Remember this, it's all in how drugs were marketed that led to our nations inflated addiction problems at the time.
